Our current world is living under unprecedented circumstances, the changes during the last century have had a massive impact both in the way society operates and the way nature reacted to it. Given the difficulty found in communications during these past decades, we may easily fall under the assumption that things are just as we know them, but when you dedicate your life to wisdom and knowledge, you discover just how much is going on and how fast it can change.
Some people started gathering around the area of The City, they started uniting under common causes, ideals or understandings in the way of life.
Slowly but surely, this people started developing an a plan, each of the tribes spreading across the territory, each of them under a different banner.
The Scavengers, The Reclaimers, The Seekers, The Risers and The Wanderers, as is the naming convention I gave them, every tribe reaching toward goals I can’t even start to fathom.
We do not know how The City is on the inside, especially since the last testimonies before the wall was built date back to the 2230s.
We know that they have something we don’t, you can see it every single night.
What it is still escapes me, as much as I’ve looked for and studied any subject even remotely related.
As far as we know, it is the only place on Earth with access to that kind of technology, which adds to the mystery of the whole situation.
It seems like after everything that happened, most people simply accepted the circumstances and adapted the best they could.
They slowly started to congregate into small groups, often just a few different families, and began to live in self-made small villages, away from the noise of The City and now away from the antics of The Tribes.
These people represent the vast majority of the population as of right now, but there are signs that it may be changing in the coming decades if not centuries.
Without the constant “maintenance” or “fight against nature” exercised by our predecessors, nature was quick to claim former human enclaves. The destruction caused by the wars and the relentless growth of nature has turned them into dangerous, unpredictable places.
They possess quite an amount of knowledge, looks into the past and the workings of our former society, but I would advise you to never go into one alone, especially now that the Reclaimers lure in their labyrinths.
Even though just a few centuries have passed, which seems to be a minimal span of time for nature, the impact of the wars and especially their result has been notable during the last decades.
Apex predators back at the top of the pyramid, bred animals numebrs falling extremely quick without protection, species fast to secure their place wherever there was a spot left behind… It hasn’t changed much, but it has for us.
During the first century after the wars, anyone alive who somehow managed to leave behind their impression of the new world tells how fast and agressively nature took on the mantle to claim back all that was taken from it.
New species flourished under these new conditions as older flora spreaded and adapted to the new world.
